Jose Mourinho Ready To Spend £40m On This Tottenham Midfielder

Jose Mourinho wants to kick off a massive summer spending spree with a £40m move for Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier, according to The Sun.

Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of the England international and views him as the ideal successor in Manchester United’s midfield.

Seasoned negotiators Spurs have no intention of parting with Dier, but Mourinho is hopeful a £40m offer can price him away from White Hart Lane.

If successful, The Sun claim the acquisition will mark the start of flurry of transfer activity this summer, with United in the market for a striker and centre-back.

Eric Dier, 23, has also been linked with Chelsea this season amid reports that he was unhappy with playing at centre-back in Toby Alderweireld’s absence.
