NFF Boss tips Burna Boy for greatness
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, has paid tribute to Burna Boy, saying that he knows the singer right from his mother’s womb.
Pinnick said, during the interview with Hip TV, that the Port Harcourt dancehall star is not a celebrity to him because he knows him before he was born.
The former Delta State Football Association chairman said, “Burna Boy is indeed a small boy.”
“When his mother, Bose, was pregnant, she regularly visited her younger brother, Tolu, who was my next door neighbour. That was You know when you are neighbours with somebody in school, you bond with that person, so I really know Burna Boy’s mother and his brother who was my neighbour,” he said.
The NFF president also revealed why Nigerian Afro Beat icon Fela is such a huge influence on the dance hall star.
“Tolu’s dad was one of Fela’s manager and if you look at Burna Boy’s songs, it tilts towards Fela’s kind of sounds,” Pinnick said.
“I am very proud of him, because I saw him from day one and this is just the beginning of that boy’s life,” he continued.
”He will be one of the greatest things to have happened to Nigerian music because he is different and his impact on people is amazing,” Pinnick added. Boy right there in her stomach.”
